Memery Crystal has appointed Edward Baker as Partner in its Corporate Team, boosting its offerings in private and public mergers and acquisitions (M&A), equity capital markets and advisory matters.
Edward has almost 30-years of experience that includes advising leading listed and non-listed companies, financial institutions and hedge funds on domestic and cross-border transactions, M&A and capital raisings.
He joins from Simmons & Simmons where he was a partner for nearly 20-years, having previously qualified at Ashurst in 1994.
Edward spent two years on secondment to the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers, or The Takeover Panel, as it is more commonly known. He is an expert on Takeover Code related advice, having acted in this area for bidders, targets, asset managers, investment banks and shareholders.
Edward has advised on a number of high-profile transactions, including Growthpoint Properties Limited on its partial offer for and subscription in Capital & Regional plc.
